your opportunity

Based at Northern Adelaide, this role has responsibility for supporting successful engagement and retention in learning of young people aged 13-21, identified as disengaged from a mainstream secondary school-based learning program.

The program uses across-agency collaboration, community partnerships and the joined-up delivery of services to meet the individual, social, emotional, learning and transition needs of these students

Your role will include:

  • Assess each participants needs and barriers, vocational and non-vocational
  • Coordinate responses and supports to young people including referral to additional supports
  • Individual case management and support, in accordance with case management standards as regulated by the SA Education Department
  • Work in conjunction with school leaders, well being officers, government, employment consultants and community organisations
  • Develop and deliver workshops and groupwork activities
  • Represent yourtown and community forums and school-based functions

This position will be appointed on a full time, maximum term basis for 12 months.

what we are looking for

You will have experience in providing case work to young people and will have proven ability to build rapport with and motivate young people.

You will bring:

  • Passion, commitment and belief in young people
  • Certificate IV in youth work or degree level qualification in a human services discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in the provision of case work services for highly disadvantaged young people
  • Understanding of trauma-informed principles of engagement and support
  • Demonstrated skills in the effective delivery of individual case management, workshops and facilitation processes with groups of young people
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is highly desirable
