Zero Emissions Noosa (ZEN) Inc’s needs a passionate person with Program/Project Manager experience to help us achieve our vision of net zero greenhouse gas emissions in the Noosa Shire community. THE POSITION
This flexible, part-time, employee role, is funded through a Noosa Council Partnership Agreement for 12 months, with possible extension.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will support ZEN Inc. and it’s members and volunteers, via an agreed workplan, to undertake it’s cutting edge projects by taking a high-level view of ZEN Inc’s program, and strategically guiding project leaders to ensure they are all working effectively toward the programs’ objective, including:
- Ensuring that projects are in line with the stated goals of their organization
- Ensuring ZEN Inc. projects are delivered on time and within budget by assisting project leaders with monitoring, budgeting and timely grant acquittal
- Providing quality control, monitoring and coordinating of ZEN Inc’s project work for maximum impact
- Monitoring activities, organisation, and costs of an event and working with the project leaders to modify them as necessary
- Advising and overseeing project budgets, volunteer project leaders, activities, and intended final products
- Working with everyone from volunteers to management, conveying information to people who are may not be specifically trained in a task, as ZEN Inc is a non-profit organisation
- Being the ZEN Inc. Expo co-ordinator
- Being present face to face for meetings.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated program manager or project manager experience
Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with a not -for-profit Board/Management Committee in a program manager or project manager
- Demonstrated experience working in the NFP/community sector, including working with volunteers
- Residence in the Noosa Shire or an understanding of the Noosa context is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in renewable energy and/or sustainable transport at community level is an advantage
Essential Skills:
- Motivation and being a self-starter, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated skills to support and work with volunteers
- Ability to work as a team member
- Superior time management skills
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Google Worksuite
PERFORMANCE GOALS:
- Delivery of agreed Annual Plan on time and on budget.
- Specific KPI’s as agreed to in conjunction with the Board.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- This flexible, part time role (19 hours or 2.5 days per week) is for 12 months, with the possibility of continuation subject to funding and successful work completion, including a 3-month probation period.
- You will keep a record of hours worked and activities worked on for inclusion in fortnightly time sheets and reporting to the Board every two months.
- You will be primarily working from home, utilizing your own computer and internet facilities. There may be the opportunity to work from shared office space with wi-fi. Some external travel will be required to attend face to face ZEN E & ZENTAG Working group meetings.
