The Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) is looking for a driven Communications Manager who wants to put their talent towards making a difference for wildlife conservation, animal welfare and environmental sustainability.
Become part of a progressive, high-performing team with an office based on site at harbourside Taronga Zoo Sydney. We have a very inclusive environment in our team and encourage anyone who fits the criteria for this role to apply.
As a peak body, the Zoo and Aquarium Association Australasia (ZAA) represents the collective voice of the zoos, aquariums, sanctuaries and wildlife parks across Australasia that operate to the highest standards.
ZAA and its members lead over 100 breeding programs in support of conservation and community education. Additionally, we actively contribute to threatened species recovery around the world.
We have a progressive, science-based approach to animal welfare. Using the Five Domains Animal Welfare Assessment Model, this approach champions welfare from the animal’s perspective and it underpins all that we do.
As an association, ZAA brings its members together, facilitating shared knowledge and continuous improvement in conservation, welfare, biosecurity, science, research, social and community programs.
Full-time, permanent role reporting to the ZAA Executive Director. Based at the ZAA Office on Cammeraigal Country at Taronga Zoo Sydney with an exclusive view of the squirrel monkeys. Hybrid options are available with the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days per week.
The ZAA Communications Manager will be responsible for managing internal and external communications to support execution of the ZAA Strategy across three pillars: (1) connected communities, (2) resilient organisations and (3) progressive practices.
