With the child's voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. Our people are proudly local, reflective of the communities we serve - in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities.

It takes all types of personalities and talents to drive our organisation- yours included. We value a healthy work-life balance and ensure our people feel connected to each other and our impact. Learn from inspiring people and grow from a connection to our strong local and global networks. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.

A place to make a difference:

Here you're empowered to make a difference in children's lives by learning, sharing and collaborating to find new ways to solve problems.
In this part-time permanent position (30.4 hours per week) based in Brisbane, you'll work within a team to provide crisis responses to women and children escaping violence.

You'll provide risk assessment and safety planning as well as some case management and referral-based supports within a refuge setting. Reporting to the Team Leader, you'll work within a rotational roster Monday - Sunday between 8am & 8pm. We value maintaining a healthy work life balance and have incorporated considerations to support this.

Please note: the role attracts some minimal rostered on-call responsibilities for all staff members.

You will make a difference by:

  • Facilitating the provision of safe accommodation to women and children escaping domestic and family violence.
  • Conducting thorough risk and needs assessments, within a trauma informed, Safe and Together case management framework.
  • Working with families to source appropriate, safe and sustainable accommodation free from violence and/or connecting families with services to meet their needs.
  • Working collaboratively with a team of specialists to provide best-practice, integrated responses to DFV.

A place to feel valued:

You're an experienced practitioner with high levels of initiative and flexibility alongside cultural sensitivity and knowledge. You're able to respond calmly and effectively in crisis and complex situations. Importantly, you possess a thorough understanding of the impact of domestic violence on women and children and can apply that within a trauma-informed practice framework. We recognise your contribution and provide you the support to ensure you can bring your best, knowing here you have the space and opportunity to grow.

  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence, including the impact on children.
  • Experience working with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Current driver's licence.

We are looking for the right fit for our team and shared values are considered as high importance. If you feel that you meet some of the criteria, but not all and feel as though you could be the right match for the team, organisation and service, please get in touch to discuss this opportunity.
