We’re looking for a professional Payroll Officer with relevant experience who wants to join our 2,000+ team of staff and volunteers to make a difference on a 18 month full-time maximum term basis, working 38 hours per week based in Fitzroy.

THE ROLE

The Payroll Officer is responsible for assisting in all areas of the fortnightly payroll process and assist staff and managers with payroll related queries. 

  • Code and process time sheets to the payroll in a reliable, timely and efficient manner ensuring that the correct people receive the correct amount of pay on the due date and in compliance with relevant award determinations and/or the Brotherhood Enterprise Agreements.
  • Assist in the coordination of leave entitlements and staff benefits, including salary packaging.
  • Promptly process pay and other adjustments as required.
  • Input to the payroll system the details of new staff commencements, including the processing of taxation, banking and superannuation details.
  • Process any changes in conditions of employment (including terminations) which effect pay and benefits by adhering to strict payroll procedures and processing with less than (< ) 5% error rate. 

Salary will be in the range of $69,280.93 to $74,288.26 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Experience in working in payroll
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in Chris21, PageUp, Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and Outlook Sound understanding and ability to interpret Certified Agreements and Awards as required
  • Demonstrated capacity to complete detailed payroll work accurately and to deadlines
  • Ability to process WorkCover payments 
  • Ability to provide a courteous approach to telephone pay queries
  • Highly-developed administration, computer skills and competency in Microsoft Program
  • Chris21 working experience is preferable
