Are you passionate about contributing to the well-being, support and empowerment of women on the Central Coast? Do you have experience in crisis response and counselling for women experiencing domestic, family or sexual violence?

The Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre (CCCWHC) is seeking a woman to fill the position of Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence Specialist Counsellor. The role is a part-time role (job-share) with an initial term of two (2) years. The primary location is our Wyoming Centre; however, this role provides services across our three centres’ located at Wyoming, Wyong and Woy Woy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working alongside the Client Services team and other DFSV specialists, the DFSV Counsellor is responsible for providing trauma-informed, strength-based, and client-centred crisis response and counselling for CCCWHC clients who are experiencing domestic, family or sexual violence.

ABOUT YOU

  • You’re an experienced counsellor with at least 2 years of frontline work – in domestic violence service
  • You’ll have counselling, psychology, social work or community services qualifications
  • You have a high level of understanding of working with women who are experiencing domestic/family/sexual violence, homelessness and other complex needs
  • You are skilled in risk management, safety planning and in advocating for client-focused outcomes
  • You work from a trauma-informed, client-centred, strengths-based approach
  • You are a supportive, team-player who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping to develop other workers and students
