The Role

Reporting to General Manager People & Culture, you will partner with senior managers to drive performance and a value driven culture across the organisation. You will play a leading role managing the operational delivery of the People & Culture service, development of a range of HR initiatives & programs aligned with the overall business strategy & solutions focused HR consulting to support the business
The People & Culture Manager will lead a small team ensuring quality and timely delivery of HR Support, and implementing systems to ensure performance outcomes; as well as programs to grow our talent, ensure employee engagement, and staff retention .

Key accountabilities include:

  • Management and development of HR team to provide excellent HR customer services to the business. Effective support and advice to managers in a wide range of employee relations matters
  • Partnering with the business to deliver successful HR and change management programs and processes.
  • Developing an effective and engaging hybrid HR onboarding program for employees and managers that delivers improved employee retention.
  • Designing and implementing a platform and initiatives to educate and support the development of competent and confident people managers.
  • Making constructive feedback from employees to managers, and from managers to employees’ part of how we work to improve including, decision making and Canteen results.
  • Think creatively to solve complex and challenging recruitment assignments.
  • Oversight of HR reporting and recording systems ensuring accuracy as well as continuous improvement of HR digital solutions.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree qualified preferably in HR or business
  • 5 years’ experience leading a HR function or able to demonstrate a readiness based on background and experience
  • Experience in the development and implementation of learning and leadership programs
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary human resources issues and knowledge of HR practices & employment law including workers’ compensation and WHS.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigation.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, resilience and ability to navigate a changing environment and a hands-on approach to be involved in tasks that will contribute to successful business outcomes
  • Proven experience working with leaders to coach and guide their decision-making process, alongside your ability to influence culture and performance
  • Exposure to managing a team and demonstrated effective leadership qualities
  • Substantial experience working with various HRIS and software applications, coupled with a natural aptitude for systems and effective use of digital interventions
