EqualiTEA is the social enterprise arm of the organisation, providing support services to people with disability like Supported Independent Living (SIL) or employment supports to assist people with disability to get their dream job.

Our services assist and support individuals and families living with a disability, provide personalised employment support and deliver out-of-home care for children. We also recruit, train, and support workers, carers, and volunteers to work in our communities.

About the Role

This newly created role will be suited for a leader who is innovative in their thinking, has a can-do attitude, and stares a challenge in the face like nobody’s business. Based in Katherine and reporting to our Chief Operations Officer, you will manage our EqualiTEA teams in both Katherine and Alice Springs to further develop the quality and commercial viability of our EqualiTEA services.

Skills and Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Development of and Operational Management of Equalitea services, including Equalitea House accommodation, employment training, activities, and support services and ILC services in line with NT Friendship and Support’s Strategic Plan, Mission, and Values.
  • Works with the EqualiTEA teams and other internal stakeholders to develop strategy and plans to deliver excellent support to the current base of individuals and ensure the continued growth and expansion of Equalitea Services.
  • Ensure high-quality services are delivered to clients in keeping with NDIS Quality Standards, best practice, continuous improvement, and NTFS Values.
  • Works across the organisation to identify, mitigate and manage risks.
  • Develop internal processes to ensure high-standard quality practice are maintained.
  • Contributes to and implements strategies to ensure continuity of services.
  • Manage commercial viability of Equalitea services by developing and delivering of services within the budget and developing business opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Growth and development of EqualiTEA Services within the Northern Territory in line with program KPIs and strategic plan.
  • Facilitates networks of people and their families to support self-determination and direction of their services.
  • Develops good working relationships with funders, referral agencies, other providers, and community groups.
  • Provides high-quality people management to Equalitea Team Leaders and supports Team Leaders to manage their teams effectively in accordance with NTFS policies.
  • Provide business acumen support to support the development of people-centred micro–enterprise activities.
  • Provides reports internally and externally as required.
  • Provision of leadership and support to the Katherine EqualiTEA program.

Essential Criteria:

  • A proven track record of delivery of person-centred services in a team environment.
  • Experience managing programs and services within the disability sector.
  • Proven effective management of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of commercial operations.
  • Understanding of and experience in managing budgets.
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Desired Criteria / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Diploma level certification in Disability, Community Services.
  • Business and/or Frontline Management Tertiary qualifications.
  • Relevant Industry experiences.

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Clean valid NT Driver's Licence
