An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified health promotion professional, with a passion for preventing violence against women, to join the small Health Promotion team at healthAbility.

This position will be responsible for leading healthAbility’s contribution to ‘Building a Respectful Community’ regional strategy led by Women’s Health in the North and contributing to our Catchment Integrated Health Promotion Plan. A key project involves supporting Eltham Town Traders and the Eltham Chamber of Commerce efforts in preventing gender-based violence. The position will also more broadly aim to strengthen settings-based health promotion activity across Nillumbik workplaces.

To be successful in this role you will be highly motivated, with a professional and proactive approach to work. You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in health promotion or public health and ideally recent experience with primary prevention of violence against women initiatives.

You will have a demonstrated ability in using participatory approaches to engage and co-design community prevention initiatives including social marketing campaigns and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders. Your strong project management and communication skills and proven ability for seeking innovative solutions that generate enthusiasm and commitment among partners and communities will ensure success in this role.

Based in Eltham, healthAbility is close to public transport, cafes, shops and the local parking is free.
