The role

Access Early Learning (AEL) aims to increase participation in kindergarten by children experiencing vulnerability. As the facilitator you will be skilled in early years education, parenting and skills development and engagement.

The position is based at our office in Frankston, the facilitator will cover the Mornington Shire to establish relationships with parents and conduct home visits to develop and implement home-based learning goals.

What you will do

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of counsellors caseworkers and support workers
  • Manage a caseload of 8-10 families where a 3-year-old is eligible for kindergarten
  • Outreach services to families across the Mornington Shire
  • Building relationships with parents to encourage effective in-home learning
  • Foster connection and a sustained relationship with other family supports, kindergarten and educators
  • Ongoing case management
  • Flexibility to work outside of the standard 9am-5pm

Who we are looking for

  • It is essential that you hold a bachelor’s in Social Work, Early Years Education or similar
  • 'Small Talk' facilitator training would be highly regarded
  • Understanding of conceptual frameworks around early years education
  • Knowledge of, or experience working in, the education sector would be advantageous
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experienced in working outside of the office environment in the community with vulnerable families
