The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Department is responsible for ensuring that the organisation complies with OHS legislation and that the health and safety management system, developed based on best practice, is in place at all SVHM workplaces. This is achieved with a multidisciplinary team including OHS, patient manual handling, aggression prevention, wellbeing, injury management and emergency management.
The Health and Safety Consultant, under the guidance of the HSW Manager will support the organisational health and safety management system and promote a positive safety culture, so as to provide a safe work environment.
They will ensure that health and safety risks are mitigated through robust, effective systems and processes. Close liaison with key stakeholders across the organisation is essential.
Classifications for this position will be a HS4 ($83,657 per annum).

SVHA has a duty of care under work health and safety legislation to eliminate and/or control the risk of transmission of vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) in healthcare settings.
