About the program

The Commonwealth Government is funding this new pilot program as part of its $1.1 billion commitment in the 2021-22 Federal Budget to help end violence against women and children. Wesley Mission will lead this pilot program in NSW and the ACT.

The Escaping Violence Payment (EVP) program will provide assistance up to $5,000 for individuals wanting to leave a violent partner. This includes financial assistance, along with goods, services, and any assistance they may need to establish a safe place to live.

About the role

We are looking for a Team Leader who is conscientious, reliable and motivated about making a difference. The EVP Team Leader role is a specialist Domestic & Family Violence position. You will be supervising and leading our Sydney based team to ensure delivery of a safe and responsive service, monitoring victim & survivors safety, providing financial packages and referrals to a range of wrap-around supports as required.

All staff in the Communities program work hard to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships in an autonomous-supportive work environment where they are all trained to be the best in their field. Wesley Mission provides regular supervision, support and training for all staff.

Essential criteria

  • Degree qualified with substantive experience in a Domestic & Family Violence setting
  • Solid experience working within a trauma informed, client-centred framework
  • Demonstrable experience with proven results in:
    • Staff supervision
    • Partnership development with local services and DFV networks
    • Budget maintenance
  • Cultural competence and experience working alongside Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people and First Nations families
  • Current NSW or National driver’s licence
  • Working with Children’s Check & criminal record history check.
