Wungening Aboriginal Corporation

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Research and Evaluation Lead, this position forms part of Wungening’s collaborative Research and Evaluation team and will provide support to project activities in line with Wungening’s commitment to decolonising data, evaluation and research.

A key focus will be coordinating the re-imagination and developmental evaluation of an Aboriginal-led healing model for Wungening’s Wooree Miya refuge. The project will inform the co-design, and implementation of the improved, Aboriginal-led service model.

ABOUT WOOREE MIYA

Wooree Miya Refuge is a 24/7 crisis service that provides safe, culturally secure, short term accommodation for women and children who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to family and domestic abuse.

Wooree Miya has been managed and operated by Wungening Aboriginal Corporation since April 2001. In January 2017 Wooree Miya transitioned to a new bespoke property, doubling the capacity of the refuge, and enabling the delivery of a new and expanded service delivery model.

It has capacity to accommodate 10 families (10 mothers and up to 60 children at any one time) in independent units with access to communal spaces.
