About ABCN:

The Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN) is a not-for-profit organisation that brings business and schools together to improve opportunities for students in the future world of work. Entirely business funded, ABCN is a network of nearly 50 member companies representing a wide range of leading national and global organisations, and over 200 partner schools from low-income areas across Australia. We are led by an experienced body of our member CEOs who actively participate in business and education partnerships and support their employees to do the same. Together we share a common vision for all young Australians to reach their potential in the future world of work, regardless of their socio-economic background.

We provide structured mentoring and other workplace programs that cover future focused career skills. Our programs connect students to volunteer business mentors, helping students develop career understanding, and the skills, mindsets, aspirations and professional connections to achieve more than they thought was possible.

Key responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and working in a small team, the role will:

  • Manage and nurture strategic relationships with existing ABCN members to identify opportunities to build and enhance the member experience, and help deliver best practice, high impact partnerships, including annual partnership planning and impact and evaluation reporting
  • On occasion, support the Head of Partnerships and Corporate Partnerships Manager with business development opportunities including new memberships and grants
  • Remain abreast of new information and innovations in CSR partnerships
  • Uphold ABCN’s values within our team and with our external partners.

About you:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in stakeholder relationship management in a corporate environment
  • Customer oriented with a high level of relationship management skills to build relationships with our business development leads, our strategic partners, and the ABCN team
  • Ability for strategic thinking and to inspire others
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly, self-starter with the capability to work autonomously, prioritise a sizeable workload and juggle competing demands
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including building effective relationships, positive interaction and creative problem-solving. May suit high level EA with strong relationship management skills, experience in solving client needs and customer service focussed, seeking a more dedicated partnerships role.
  • A collaborative and positive working style, and a growth mindset
  • A desire to be part of a dedicated team who want to make a real difference to the lives of young Australians
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline are desirable, e.g. business, marketing, CSR or social impact
