This role is a Permanent Part Time role at 0.5 FTE.
The Indigenous Skills and Employment Program (ISEP) “Mob BOOST” Team Leader, will report to the Mob BOOST Service Manager and provide targeted training, mentoring and wrap-around support, using a flexible, outreach and place-based approach.
This program focuses on supporting Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander peoples to address barriers to training and/or employment. By leading and managing the Employment Specialists, the Team Leader will provide oversight, monitoring, mentoring and supervision to ensure the program meets the required scope and deliverables. The Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring services that are provided, develop meaningful employment opportunities and career pathways for participants, that are underpinned by culturally safe workplace principles and practices.
Mob BOOST will work with local employed and industry, specifically Health and Aged Care, Community and Social Services, Retain, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Childcare, Warehousing, and Construction, to close the employment gab by supported pathways to employment, identifying and leveraging growth opportunities, building local capability, and creating exclusive local employment opportunities. Mob BOOST will also promote positive and sustainable impacts on the local employment landscape.
The Team Leader will support the program to achieve program intentions via effective delivery of programs and services, that may include accessing traineeships, developing literacy, numeracy and digital literacy capabilities. Additionally, they will foster a collaborative work environment and support strategies to enhance the employment and career prospects of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander individuals across three age groups and as per the contracted scope and purpose of the role, including:
We are looking for a person with passion and commitment for supporting Aboriginal and or Torres Strait people in obtaining employment that is meaningful to them. You will support participants overcome any barriers to employment, find the right job, and then support them into employment, training and or vocational opportunities.
You will have strong, demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander people, organisations, and communities as well as well-developed communication skills, empathy, and cultural competence. You will directly help participants develop the skills to become meaningfully employed in a suitable work environment.
