About the role

The Disability Inclusion Lead will be instrumental in developing and implementing initiatives to ensure employer readiness for employing individuals with disabilities at Achieve Australia.

This role will champion disability inclusion and raise awareness amongst staff about disability and inclusion, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where all employees feel valued, empowered and included.

This is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement resources, processes, policies, procedures, and guidelines to assist Achieve to be a more accessible and inclusive workplace.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff on the benefits and best practices of hiring people with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with People Performance and Culture (PPC) Team and other departments to integrate inclusive practices into recruitment, onboarding, learning and development and retention processes.
  • Identify and engage with key project internal and external stakeholders, including other partner organisations and disability advocacy groups.
  • Design and implement mechanisms for gathering feedback from stakeholders, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Organise and facilitate regular meetings and workshops with stakeholders to discuss progress and address project challenges.
  • Prepare and present regular reports.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience implementing workplace diversity and inclusion practices and policies.
  • Background or experience in disability employment services.
  • Understanding of and / or experience working in disability or similar sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, building, and maintaining relationships.
  • Demonstrated program or project experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Good conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced communication skills including influencing skills and the preparation of written and verbal reports.
  • An ability to prioritise work and meet conflicting deadlines and excellent time management skills.
