Hard Heads, Soft Hearts, Capable Hands
The Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF) was established in 2008 in response to community demand from Indigenous families who choose to enrol their children in boarding schools.
Bringing together the government and private sector, AIEF provides scholarship funding for Indigenous students to complete Year 12 or tertiary studies, with career support to help them make a successful transition to further study and employment.
AIEF is growing and we currently have several opportunities in our Advancement Team. Reporting to the Head of Advancement, the Philanthropy Assistant is responsible for the creation and delivery of two annual appeals, general maintenance of donor and prospect records in our database, and coordinating stewardship of new and existing donors, including the provision of high-level administrative support to the Advancement Team.
The Philanthropy Assistant will be a highly organised and professional office all-rounder with a friendly manner, attention to detail and mature judgement who takes pride in what they do. Conscientious and detail oriented, this individual will be capable of building warm relationships with donors and supporters. This role is especially suitable for an individual with an interest in growing a career in philanthropy.
The ideal candidate will be an organised, enthusiastic, results driven self-starter who has strong communication skills, exemplary interpersonal skills, a relevant qualification and/or at least three years’ work experience in relevant roles. Candidates with prior experience in philanthropy and knowledge of general fundraising practices will be considered favourably and are encouraged to apply.
