Our client, a well-established and highly regarded community services organisation, supports the health and wellbeing of women, their families, and their communities, providing assistance to vulnerable and disadvantaged women through their clinic, counselling, and support services.

About the Role

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Senior Health Promotions Officer will lead and help deliver health promotion and education activities to women and their families and work within the broader health and community sector to develop partnerships and collaborations to meet the diverse and complex needs of the client groups.

In addition, the role has overall responsibility for managing the Health Promotion Officers and Physical Activity staff, events and calendar management, program design and planning and reporting for the Health Promotion Team.

This position is full time and located in our clients head office in Northbridge.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills coupled with experience working with a wide range of client groups including but not limited to women who have mental health and/or AOD issues, women who have been involved in the justice system, young and senior women, Aboriginal women, and women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Essential

  • Being female is considered an essential requirement of this role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion or Public Health and/or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience and competency in the planning, delivery and evaluation of gender specific health promotion activities
  • Experience in working with a wide range of client groups as identified above
  • Highly effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Well developed conceptual, analytical problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to use computer applications including email, internet, Word, Excel and Power Point and Office 365
  • Availability for some after hours and weekend work as required
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation in EEO, Disability Services and Occupational Safety & Health

The following are also required:

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current ‘C’ class WA driver’s license
  • COVID Vaccination Certificate or Booking Confirmation Showing upcoming appointment

Desirable

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training
  • Demonstrated ability to write successful funding applications and meet funding reporting requirements
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
