About Us
AQIA is the service delivery arm of the peak bodies for fitness, sport and active recreation in Queensland. We are a not-for-profit organisation aiming to make it easier for community-level organisations and clubs to operate in their local communities and to support their workforce (paid or volunteer).
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the Active Industry Career Advisor is to promote the industry to schools, students and their parents, deliver and participate in school and community events that promote and raise awareness of career options in the Active Industry sector.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop resources to highlight and promote the Active Industry (fitness, sport and recreation) – promotional material, teacher resources, student resources
- Promote careers in the Active Industry through various media including social media, print material and face to face events, webinars etc.
- Attend school and local Career Expos
- Provide information to students and parents about the Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications (including VETiS and Schools Cased Traineeships, potential employment pathways and further training opportunities.
- Connect with employers to provide workplace experience to students as part of their VET training pathway at a school.
About you
Applicants must have extensive knowledge and experience in the vocational education and training system, and knowledge of the fitness, sport and recreation industry (the Active Industry).
