belong has a strong history of providing SQW programs to diverse communities in South West corridor of Brisbane and is looking for someone who values quality practice, team building and positive stakeholder relationships.

Purpose of the role

The belong SQW Senior Coordinator is highly motivated, experienced and committed to supporting and empowering members of local communities to make meaningful contributions, develop relevant knowledge, skills and understanding of how to successfully enter the Australian labour market as an asset to employers.

Working with new arrivals to Australia, long term and under unemployed individuals, the SQW Senior Coordinator leads a team of Project Coordinators and Site Supervisors to deliver an effective, high quality, contractually compliant Skilling Queenslanders for Work service. This role promotes the benefits of workforce diversity and adeptly markets belong’s workforce to internal and external stakeholders and provides quality reporting to the Department of Employment Small Business and Training.

Duties

  • Lead, supervise and support a team of SQW staff to enable best practice and positive client experience, collect data and manage stakeholders
  • Complete timely reports of service to DESBT
  • Undertake administrative functions of the SQW program
  • Support and empower members of the QLD community to make meaningful contributions
  • Formulate and draft proposals for funding applications including progressing and supporting documentation for submission
  • Contribute to a culture that supports health, safety and wellbeing of all staff, clients and stakeholders
  • Work with new arrivals and local community members, to develop relevant knowledge and employability skills
  • Demonstrate how to successfully enter the Australian labour market
  • Champion the benefits of workforce diversity and marketing belong’s workforce
  • Remain solutions focused to be recognised as a preferred SQW provider in the field
  • Develop and deliver group-based workshops, on a range of employment and industry relevant topics
  • Develop and deliver a range of employability skills, Australian workplace culture, interview techniques etc; or specific information sessions on economic participation opportunities
  • Seek skills building and employment opportunities for clients, support clients to access these
  • Provide post placement support as per contractual requirements
  • Provide accurate and effective information on career choices, VET pathways and funded opportunities to clients and across the organisation
  • Plan and deliver community engagement and education and activities to incorporate job clubs, employment forums, program structure, graduations, employment and training expos
  • Undertake program development and continuous improvement
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of current labour market developments, employment and training policy developments
  • Develop, review and maintain training and other resources to a high standard of professionalism
  • Ensure work is conducted in accordance with policy and procedures to ensure client privacy, business confidentiality and records are maintained appropriately
  • Apply cultural sensitivity throughout employment management practices, awareness of practices for cultural differences and in compliance with client privacy policies
  • Provide support and guidance for peers, to enhance professional development
  • All other duties associated with the position

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in providing results-driven employment support to jobseekers, with emphasis on meeting funding criteria KPI’s
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively and strategically through utilising high level stakeholder negotiation skills (internal and external) in seeking opportunities for clients and the organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work supportively and collaboratively within a small team
  • Experience in leading teams
  • Experienced in identifying appropriate funded projects, formulating funding proposals and supporting documentation for submission
  • Experience in accurate report writing and information to support final reports, identifying specific information
  • Demonstrated values of integrity, resilience, teamwork and professionalism consistent with belongs vision, including outstanding cross-cultural communication skills and a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of issues in relation to employment and training

Essential

  • Positive Notice Blue Card for Child related Employment
  • Current or willing to undergo a Police Check
  • Cert IV - Community services or relevant qualifications and experience

Desirable Skills and/or Experience

  • Previous experience in developing stakeholder relationships with a goal of creating employment opportunities
  • Accurate report writing skills for funded programs
  • Previous experience in job active, recruitment agencies or Skilling Queenslanders for Work projects
  • TAE - Current
