Alice Springs Youth Accommodation & Support Services ( ASYASS ) is a community based organisation that provides accommodation, support and advocacy for homeless young people aged 14 to 23 years. As a Residential Support worker, you will assist in a "Home" like environment.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to support young women, babies and families with crisis accommodation, birthing support, parenting skills and life skills. if you have a desire to make a difference, want to work in a supportive, flexible, culturally aware environment and high level of skill with aboriginal culture, pregnancy and maternity, education, counselling or mental health and case management, then ASYASS is looking for you!

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

To provide safe, secure and welcoming residential environment, staffed and 24hrs/7 days a week, to young people 14-23 years who are homeless and / or in crisis. Offer support, advocacy and casework in a confidential and respectful manner that builds on young people's strengths and abilities and encourages personal development including self-worth, resiliency, problem solving and basic living skills. Facilitate access to other essential services and program such as health and education.

Position is based on the SCHCaDSI Award and attracts substantial allowances for evening and some weekend work.
