About the assignment

We’re looking for a Carbon Financing Officer who can volunteer in Indonesia for 12 months. Join the Australian Volunteers Program and support the carbon credit program across East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.

About the Partner Organisation: 

To assist the poor and vulnerable in Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS) with a focus on health, agriculture, access to renewable energy and addressing climate change. Yayasan Besi Pae was established in 2015 as an expansion of services from LSM Besi Pae, established in 2011. The organisation has implemented several activities in TTS and, in 2017, signed an MOU with the local government to help improve health and livelihoods in TTS. 

The Yayasan managed a DAP fund in 2017 and 2019. Between 2016 and 2018, Besi Pae worked with TNP2K via DFAT-funded Mahkota to provide electricity to the poor. The Yayasan is now partnering with Springfields Group to implement a DFAT Australian Development Accelerator (ADA) grant.

About the Position:

  • In this role, you will train the local community in the benefits of carbon sequestration
  • To be successful, you will need a have a degree in agriculture, forestry, natural science or a related area
  • Help Besi Pae to participate in community activities with a particular focus on activities that improve the livelihoods of women

Allowance: $1,111

The living allowance for Jakarta, Bali and Bandung $1,370 and for Indonesia rest of $1,111.

Special requirements

This In-Country assignment will be up to 12 months with the option for an extension or a new assignment.
