About the role:

Reporting directly to the GM – People & Culture, you are a conduit between the organisation and the outside world. You scan the external environment, actively develop and engage your diverse professional network and identify emerging trends, risk and opportunities to continually evolve BaptistCare’s approach to HR, workforce and employment relations.

You develop and mobilise your subject matter expertise, and that of your Unit, to translate BaptistCare’s HR and Employment Law objectives into tangible, achievable strategies and programs – and support their delivery throughout the organisation in alignment with relevant cultural and practical considerations.

You demonstrate reliable expertise and authority on employment law and industrial relations matters and industry-specific quality and compliance requirements. You bring a loving, collaborative and empowering leadership style to enable the HR & Employment Relations Unit, the broader P&C Division and other stakeholders to offer their best work, every day.

About you:

To be considered, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Laws, Business or similar
  • Demonstrable depth in leading and developing HR end Employment Law strategic people initiatives in a highly dispersed workforce
  • Ability to drive organisational IR capability from strategy to delivery
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant legislation, including subordinate legislation, in all relevant jurisdictions; well-honed skill applying relevant rules to organisational contexts for best outcomes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of contemporary HR and employment law principles and practices – and a proven appetite for continued development of professional practice in such arenas
  • Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel
  • Well-developed collaborative and participative leadership skills and experience
  • Strong relationship building, stakeholder management skills; can flex when required
  • Prior direct experience in one of the core service streams of the organisation
  • Genuine alignment to BaptistCare’s vision, purpose and values.
