The Orange Door provides a new way for women, children and young people experiencing family violence, and families in need of support with the care, development and wellbeing of children and young people, to access coordinated support from community, health and justice services. The Orange Door also focuses on perpetrators of family violence to keep them in view and plays a role in holding them accountable for their actions and changing their behaviour. The Orange Door team members are an integrated, collaborative team from The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre, Bethany Community Support, Colac Area Health and Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative. The Government has recently identified the need for additional resourcing within The Orange Door and therefore has provided additional funding for multiple positions.
This role is based in Geelong, however you will initially commence working a combination of remotely from home and in the office due to coronavirus (COVID-19). You must have a confidential space within your home and reliable internet connection to work remotely.
As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner, you will work within the multi-disciplinary Orange Door team and deliver high quality, safe and effective service responses to Victorians seeking support and services through The Orange Door.
You will receive and manage all family violence referrals for women and children to The Orange Door including the delivery of client screening, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals consistent with the Orange Door operational and practice guidelines, relevant risk assessment tools and frameworks. This is a fast paced, short term case management role.
You will be a values driven person, motivated to make a difference and you hold the client at the centre of everything you do. You are an experienced family violence specialist with qualifications in social work or a related field. You have experience providing professional, high quality case management, advocacy and support to clients.
The successful candidate will be required to maintain a current Working With Children's check and National Police Check at their own expense.
