The BCH AOD team is a close-knit, multi-disciplinary group that values collaboration, empathy, and professionalism. In this role, you’ll be part of a flexible and responsive team that supports people when they need it most.

As our Intake and Recovery Clinician (AOD), you’ll play a pivotal role as the first point of contact for clients. You’ll listen with care, guide them through intake processes, and ensure they feel safe and supported as they start their recovery journey. You’ll also provide tailored therapeutic support for individuals and families experiencing alcohol and other drug-related issues within the Care and Recovery Coordination framework.

A day in the life:

  • You welcome new clients with warmth and professionalism, guiding them through intake in a way that makes them feel safe and understood.
  • You stay organised as you balance intake, case management, and documentation, ensuring no client falls through the cracks.
  • You provide tailored support to individuals and families, helping them understand their options and navigate the services available to them.
  • You liaise with your team and external services, knowing when to step up for extra support and when to lean on your peers for collaboration.
  • You contribute to health promotion activities, raising awareness about support options and empowering the community to make informed choices.

  • AOD expertise: Experience supporting individuals and families through alcohol and other drug-related challenges utilising evidence based interventions and frameworks.
