Girl Guides Australia is a leading organisation dedicated to empowering girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members.

About the role

You will work closely with a passionate team and dedicated volunteers, contributing to the growth and success of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management: Oversee a dedicated team of 5, ensuring stability and engagement within the team.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage key projects, focusing on bringing their multi-year strategic plan to a successful conclusion.
  • Revenue & Fundraising: Revenue diversification, building on existing fundraising efforts and explore new opportunities for partnerships and philanthropy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with volunteers, other state CEOs, and external organisations.
  • Cultural Stewardship: Understand and respect the cultural underpinnings of the organisation.
  • Child Safety: Ensure all activities and policies adhere to child safety standards.
  • Board Interaction: Prepare for and participate in board meetings, including quarterly long meetings and interim evening sessions.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within a volunteer-based organisation.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to assess objectives and measure outcomes effectively.
  • Experience in revenue generation and diversification, particularly in membership-based organisations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • A participative leader who understands the importance of the volunteer model and can respect and challenge the existing culture.
  • Willingness to work outside standard hours and adapt to the needs of the organisation.
