The Educational Content Developer at Be You is a vital team member within the Experience Team responsible for driving the development and continuous improvement of Be You educational content and resources for external stakeholders and delivery partners. Reporting to the Educational Content Lead, the role focuses on the editorial development and quality assurance of educational content assets, ensuring content meets accessibility standards and aligns to the Be You Content Strategy.

Be You offers professional learning modules and resources for educators and leaders in early childhood, primary, and secondary education, aimed at building skills, knowledge, and confidence around mental health and wellbeing for children, young people, and families, from birth to 18.

The role

Be You’s educational content is designed to enhance educators' understanding and confidence on mental health and wellbeing topics and to develop practical strategies relevant to their roles. This content is evidence-informed, safe, accessible, and inclusive, including professional learning modules, fact sheets, tools and guides.

Content Quality Assurance

  • Ensure content meets plain language and accessibility standards, adhering to Be You language and style guides.
  • Collaborate with the Educational Content Adviser to ensure content review workflows for clinical safety, equity, inclusion, and sector-specific accuracy.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and targeted briefs to external writers or subject matter experts for content development.
  • Adhere to brand, style, and language guidelines and contribute to the development of content guides.

Project Management

  • Provide high-quality written documents as requested.
  • Collaborate with the Educational Content Adviser to develop timelines, project management documentation, and schedules for content development.
  • Write or provide content information, such as briefs, time, or budget estimates, for written content development.
  • Collaborate with the Educational Content Adviser to provide product information, such as key messages or unique selling points, for the Brand and Marketing Team, the wider Be You workforce, or key stakeholders.
  • Ensure participation in project management activities aligns with Beyond Blue processes.

Stakeholder Management (Internal and External)

  • Work collaboratively with other teams across Be You and Beyond Blue to deliver educational content.
  • Build strong relationships and actively participate in stakeholder meetings, ensuring clear communication regarding project expectations.
  • Consult with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to ensure Be You reflects community and stakeholder needs while complying with relevant professional standards.
  • Ensure internal and external stakeholder interdependencies are considered and Be You governance processes are adhered to within the role's scope.

About you

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Expertise in InDesign and Adobe Express - Essential.
  • Proven relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within education, mental or public health, or similar community-based programs.
  • Experience in creating, editing, and developing content for educators.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to any audience.
  • Experience working on mental health promotion initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in translating complex public health or mental health promotion concepts for broad audiences and educators.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for effectively managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skills in planning, resource identification and deployment, task and activity monitoring, reporting, and overall program delivery against defined objectives and outcomes.
  • Experience with Content Management Systems.
