Brainwave was founded in 1994 to provide practical support and care to children impacted by brain injuries and illness and their families. Brain injury and illness change people’s lives and futures. We are here for the whole family from the point of diagnosis onwards. No matter where families are in Australia, we help support them by providing holistic support in times of crisis, ongoing access to information and resources, and build meaningful social connections with and between families.

Brainwave is a NDIS registered provider offering pre-employment support to young people aged 17-24.

The primary purpose of this role is coaching young people with disabilities with a holistic approach to support their journey to employment.

The role provides 1:1 individualised support focusing on work readiness, life skills and community connections and will work with participants to design their own program to achieve outcomes through:

• Employment preparation with hands on job training and assessment;
• Developing key employability and transferable skills;
• Variety of work experiences in mainstream employment;
• Developing independence e.g. travel training, money management;
• Building and maintaining community connections and relationships, and;
• Building interpersonal skills, such as confidence and resilience.
