The Opportunity

We are seeking a People & Safety Partner to join our expanding people team to deliver exceptional generalist support to our growing business. The organisation is dynamic and fast paced and we are looking for a talent individual to operate as a true generalist to partner to our leaders to deliver an exceptional employee experience. We believe looking after our people is critical to the work they do in looking after the young people in our care.

This role will be varied and will include a focus on coaching and advising line managers, employee relations, performance management, engagement, and work health and safety management.

There will also be opportunity to drive continuous improvement, and introduce modern people experience strategies and projects into the organisation.

Your days will be interesting and diverse:

  • Partnering with managers to provide expert guidance in day to day HR functions as well as complex people matters.
  • Work Health & Safety management including developing and implementing health and wellbeing approaches
  • Workforce planning including developing resource profiles, scenario planning, retention initiatives and talent management implementation.
  • Lead and support effective investigations and performance management whilst building leadership capability in management matters
  • Coordinate general HR/IR enquires, supporting both employees and managers with any question they may have
  • Oversee effective injury management
  • Get involved in training opportunities both face to face, online, group and individual
  • Support continuous improvement and projects throughout the team and broader organisation
  • Provide support to other functions within the people team as required, such as recruitment and L&D.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Psychology/Human Resources/Business Management or other relevant studies.
  • Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience supporting leaders as a people business partner/generalist
  • Experience in supporting or leading work health safety management
  • We are looking for someone who is confident in supporting all functions in a busy HR team with a professional and friendly approach
  • Strong computer literacy with analytic mindset
  • IR experience with ability to read and interpret Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, ideally well versed in the SCHADS award
  • Valid Working with Children Check (for paid employment) or be willing and eligible to obtain one prior to commencement
  • Current National Australian Federal Police (AFP) Check
