ACCE is looking for a career education curriculum writer on a 12 month contract, to update and develop resources in line with the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.  If you are an experienced career education curriculum and resource developer seeking full time or part time work, or a contractor developing career education resources, please contact us for a discussion.  Located at our Head office, Greensborough VIC, or approved home office, or other locations as required.

    The Australian Centre for Career Education Ltd (ACCE) was established in 1975, as a not-for-profit educational charity and has a continuous history of providing quality teaching and learning programs in career development.

    We have a proud history of training, resource development, program design and service delivery to the education and community sectors, industry, governments, and the community. Our members support career education and development in these sectors.

    An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Curriculum Writer in Career Education, to join the ACCE team.

    Key roles include:

    • Review of existing resources and materials
    • Resource and lesson plan writing
    • Implementation of emerging technology into teaching materials
    • Develop training resources
    • Implement best practice teaching methods

    Experience and attributes

    • University qualified teacher
    • Curriculum writing and review experience
    • Expertise in careers (highly desirable)
    • Published author or contributor to published education materials

    Skills required

    • Proven experience developing career resources, lesson plans and aligning resources to curriculum and the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.
    • Proven experience in end-to-end program development and delivery
    • Experience in developing and managing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
    • A strong understanding of teaching practices and best practice pedagogy that meets curriculum standards and provides learning experiences for all ages
    • A strong customer service focus
    • A strong teamwork ethic including leading, mentoring and training different teams
    • A hands-on approach to tasks
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven ability to prepare and deliver presentations to various audiences
    • Excellent problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills
    • Excellent organisational, time, task and priority management
    • Computer literacy – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Passion to inspire the community to appreciate, conserve and celebrate its natural, cultural and Indigenous heritage
    • Experience or understanding of a community–based, non-government organisation
    • Police and Working with Children’s Check or VIT (Police check not required if you have VIT)
    • Drivers Licence
