CareerSeekers is a non-profit social enterprise supporting Australia’s humanitarian entrants into professional careers. We work with both mid-career professionals eager to reignite their career in Australia, and university students seeking a pathway to graduate employment.
Since we began operating in 2015, we have partnered with over 70 of Australia’s most well known employers to create over 840 paid internship opportunities for program participants.
We are a small, hard-working and close-knit team, committed to growing our impact.
Due to growth in our program, we have a vacancy for a Program Lead, based in Melbourne. This is a newly created role and will support the Program Director to deliver Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth-based internships for university students. This is one of two such roles in the organisation – the other being focussed on Sydney and Brisbane-based student internships.
The role forms part of the broader program participant support team, and has two core functions:
Supporting a caseload of participants, by providing them with employment-related training, coaching and guidance at each stage of our program; supporting our employment partners to provide meaningful experiences for our participants; and maintaining accurate participant records in our database.
Supporting the Program Director, by overseeing student enrolments to ensure optimal participation; delivering excellent service to our employment partners as the day-to-day point of contact; and matching students to the right internship opportunity, to set all parties up for success.
Whilst this role has no direct reports (all members of the program participant support team report directly to the Program Director) this role is expected to support the local team to resolve or escalate day-to-day queries.
When COVID-19 restrictions ease, this will be an office-based role, working from our Collins St office.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
And reflect our ethos:
This is an opportunity to have real, tangible impact on the lives of people from a refugee background aspiring to a professional career. Be inspired by the life journeys of the amazing young people in our program, work with our corporate partners supporting their leading diversity and inclusion initiatives and build your professional network. Be part of a successful and growing purpose-driven organisation focussed on maximising our social impact.
Guidance on salary: as a non-profit social enterprise, our salaries are comparable to equivalent roles in the non-profit sector. Salary packaging is available.
