The Caroline Chisholm Society (the Society) has been providing services to vulnerable children, women and families for over 50 years. The Society specialises in providing a range of supports and assistance to pregnant women and parents with young children aged up to 5 years.

The organisation has a clear focus on supporting women with their pregnancy and families with their early parenting, to create safe and nurturing environments for infants and young children. We work with the whole family to support secure attachments, optimise child outcomes through parenting interventions, prevent and alleviate the impacts of poverty, homelessness, family violence and issues mental health have on parent and child wellbeing.

The Role:

The Society strives for excellence in the delivery of services and programs to both internal and external stakeholders. As a member of the Society’s leadership team, the PEP Manager has a responsibility to uphold and promote the values and objectives of the Society.

The PEP Manager will have responsibility to ensure the successful coordination of site-based programs and services to meet the needs of at-risk and vulnerable mothers, during pregnancy, post birth, with their newborns and children up to the age of 5 years of age.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Coordination

  • Uphold the values, mission and objectives of the Society and working in a manner that promotes these at all times.
  • Lead, supervise and motivate a team of practitioners and specialists to deliver high quality outcomes within a performance planning, learning and development culture.
  • Assist in program development, identifying program and client needs; increase communication and collaboration between sites, support development of a cooperative and engaged whole-of-organisation culture and identity.
  • Lead and support a change culture, working towards the Society’s strategic goals and direction.
  • Lead outreach, networking and communication: Represent the Society at alliance meetings; stakeholder meetings; inter-agency meetings; liaise and collaborate with relevant government, not for profit organisations and community agencies in specific catchments and LGAs, to represent the needs of the Society and at-risk and vulnerable mothers and their children to influence the provision of effective support and engagement by those organisations.
  • Set and monitor work outcomes for program practitioners to achieve KPIs.
  • Work with the Director of Programs to establish, broaden and embed site-based services and programs including identify opportunities for increased funding and partnerships.

Practice and Program Coordination

  • Program coordination and implementation: lead site-based program, special projects and service delivery for at-risk and vulnerable women during pregnancy, post birth and their children up to the age of 5 years of age;
  • Oversee the professional practice of practitioners, students, and volunteers.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teamwork to assess and coordinate practices ensuring effective and efficient service provision across a range of family and child programs and services.
  • Manage risk for children and families working with Integrated Family Services (IFS).
  • Implement and monitor the use of a shared practice framework and needs assessment processes.
  • Oversight to manage community intake, referral and engagement processes to meet outcomes and caseload target requirements.

Reporting and Financial Coordination

  • Develop and report against the Society’s strategy, policies, procedures, and quality processes for service delivery; collect and analyse data for planning and reporting purposes.
  • Approve client brokerage expenditure.
  • Work within program budgets, ensuring compliance in accordance with contract requirements, relevant financial policies, delegations and instructions.
  • Report against funding targets, quality improvement planning, clinical governance framework, and practice framework; identify and implement continuous improvement and development opportunities aligned to QIP and DFFH standards; work with the leadership team to identify and address issues impacting the implementation of the Society’s continuous improvement plan.
  • Perform other duties allocated appropriate to position and organisational needs, and to undertake any relevant task as directed by the CEO as part of the employer/employee relationship within the scope of the role.
