About the role

As part of our growth initiative, we are very excited to have recently expanded our service offerings in the Domestic Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) space!

To kick off the project, we are seeking a skilled & experienced SpecialistCaseworker to join our passionate team on the Central Coast and work with women & children who are escaping or recovering from violence and sexual abuse and provide them with options to purse a better life and support their recovery journey. We will walk alongside survivors to reach safety and recovery through ongoing practical and emotional support.

The main objective of the role is to provide effective, client centered, trauma informed, case management services to clients. Our Caseworkers provide direct support, safety audits and planning, advocacy, holistic responses, referrals and education where required to women with or without children planning to stay, leave or escape a violent and sexually abusive relationship. DFSV Caseworkers utilise a best practice model to deliver therapeutic outcomes, build client capabilities and safety and drive and promote change.

This is a fixed-term contracts available until end of June 2026. Flexible working arrangement will be available after probation or as agreed in contract negotiation. The position is based in Tuggerah and will require you to travel across the Central Coast visiting families in their residential homes or in the Community. Position is available for an immediate start.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist knowledge and understanding of domestic, family and sexual violence to clients and staff.
  • Provide case plan duties to trainee within the scope of her role.
  • Build trainee capabilities and knowledge.
  • Provide specialist high quality, comprehensive case management to support to 80 clients per annum.
  • Provide support through advocacy, safety planning and collaboration with other services.
  • Provide timely intake and triage assessment.
  • Delivery of group facilitation.
  • Develop and foster strong relationships with relevant external stakeholders and community groups including NSW Police, Department of Communities and Justice NSW Health etc.
  • Professional record keeping and information sharing consistent with legislation relating to NSW Privacy and Confidentiality, Child Protection and Safer Pathway obligations.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Case Management working with victims of domestic, family, sexual violence.
  • Understanding of the NSW Human Services Outcomes Framework.
  • Demonstrated practice experience relating to current Child Protection and DFSV laws and legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert specialist advice to clients, students and staff classified at a lower level.
  • Ability to manage crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check.
  • A NSW Driver's Licence and insured vehicle.
