  • Full-time 2-year fixed-term contract (with the potential for extension).

CAWLS is a busy community legal practice with a vibrant and dedicated team committed to providing representation and excellent outcomes for our clients through law reform, legal advice and representation, community legal education and outreach. Many of our clients are women who have experienced or are experiencing Domestic and Family violence.

CAWLS is seeking a self-motivated candidate to assist the Project Manager to develop an exciting pilot project.

Crucial in your success in this role is your highly developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment.

Total effective package includes: base salary, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance and salary packaging options.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary objectives of the role are to;

  • Assist the Program Manager develop and formalise partnerships with identified primary healthcare providers;
  • Develop and deliver tailored, ongoing and scaffolded education and professional development and support to frontline staff within partner services;
  • Assist with the provision of secondary consultation support to partner services in relation to identification of DFSV, risk assessment and risk management;
  • Assist with the development and facilitation of a community of practice for frontline primary health care workers responding to DFSV in Central Australia and the Barkly.
  • Work with the Program Manager and CAWLS Management Team for the overall success of the pilot service, fulfilling obligations pursuant to funding agreements and ensuring the service is compliant with all regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Maintain trusted relationships with primary health care providers around the provision of education and professional development, development of referral pathways and processes and provision of secondary consultation support.
  • Assist in the implementation of the co-design framework engaging patients and frontline health workers through various methods including workshops, meetings, online updates and surveys.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality legal and socio-legal education, training and professional development for health professionals and community services workers, in relation to identifying and responding to disclosures of DFSV, including through the development of eLearning tools, consistent with the NT DFSV Risk Assessment and Management Framework;
  • Maintain a continuous improvement approach in relation to the production of education materials and online resources and the delivery of training packages for partner organisations;
  • Contribute to the provision of secondary consultation service ensuring compliance with confidentiality management processes, trauma-informed principles and mandatory reporting obligations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the pilot program, including through collection and compilation of both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Perform other duties as directed and necessary to the proper performance of the role.
  • Undertake training/professional development in consultation with the Education & Policy Manager and/or Senior Management Team.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this position, you will have;

  • Experience as an adult educator and/or facilitator with excellent public speaking skills;
  • Experience in developing training using e-learning methods;
  • Experience in consultation and design of adult education, including training needs assessment and evaluation methods.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic, family and sexual violence as it affects women and children.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment, coordinate and participate in activities and support and assist other team members;
  • Strong administration and data management skills.

The successful candidate must have a Current (NT) Driver’s License, NT Ochre Card & Criminal History check (or the ability to obtain).
