Children by Choice is seeking a passionate Consumer Engagement and Group Facilitator to lead our Consumer and Community Engagement efforts.

30+ hours per week negotiable

This role focuses on fostering a supportive environment for women and pregnant individuals to share their experiences, ensuring these insights shape our services and advocacy. Emphasising therapeutic group work and pathways to activism, this position empowers individuals to influence our projects and policies, advancing reproductive justice through shared, inclusive practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Therapeutic Group Facilitation: Design and facilitate trauma-informed group sessions for individuals with lived experiences of abortion and pregnancy options.
• Consumer Engagement: Engage those with diverse experiences, ensuring their perspectives guide service design, resource development, and advocacy.
• Community Collaboration: Build authentic relationships with marginalized communities to enhance reproductive healthcare access and participation in advocacy.
• Resource Development: Co-create health information resources with consumers, incorporating feminist principles and ensuring accessibility for all.
• Pathways to Activism: Develop opportunities for community members to contribute to advocacy efforts that amplify their voices.
• Model Design & Evaluation: Lead design and evaluation of consumer engagement initiatives.
• Inclusive Practice: Promote shared practices that reflect diverse perspectives and intersectionality.

Supervision & Teamwork:

• Mentor volunteers and students as needed.
• Foster a supportive team environment rooted in feminist and reproductive justice values.

About You:

• Deep commitment to reproductive justice and intersectional feminism.
• Creative and innovative, with a passion for community collaboration and problem-solving.
• Experienced in group facilitation, particularly with marginalised groups.
• Knowledgeable in trauma-informed practices and dedicated to advancing social justice.
• Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex issues into accessible content.
• Self-driven and able to manage impactful programs with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years in group facilitation, counselling, or support roles, particularly with women from diverse backgrounds.
• Proven experience in trauma-informed therapeutic settings.
• Commitment to social justice and breaking down systemic barriers for marginalised communities.
