About the team

The Philanthropy Unit plays a vital role in ensuring the future viability and growth of CCNSW by broadening and strengthening our fundraising base through the development of strong and lasting relationships with our major donors, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, aligned to our brand. These relationships will deliver long term, sustainable income streams for the organisation.

About the role:

The Major Gifts Specialist (Giving Circles) will be responsible for delivering our Giving Circles philanthropy products in FY25. This role will also support across the Philanthropy Unit to deliver engagement activities to enable continued growth and retention of philanthropy donors.

This is a part-time (3 days per week), 12-month contract.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • This role will deliver our Giving Circles product (with the guidance of the MG Lead) with a minimum of $150,000 to be secured via establishment of a Giving Circle in year one.
  • This role will also support the retention of our existing philanthropy donors through delivery of industry leading engagement activities, to be developed in conjunction with the Major Gifts Lead and broader philanthropy leadership team.
  • Identify, research, and prospect members for Giving Circles, including building tailored solicitation and engagement plans for each member.
  • Relationship manage Circle Chairs, providing timely reporting and engagement, working with them to develop cultivation and solicitation activities including CCNSW executive engagement.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regional contacts, working with community fundraising and events team to identify events for collaboration, and identification of, potential regions for Giving Circle development.
  • Develop and deliver event plans and post-event reports for cultivation and solicitation activities, to enable timely evaluation of engagement objectives.
  • Deliver year on year evaluation of Giving Circles and identify areas and regions for growth of Giving Circles product.
  • Support the wider Major Gifts team with additional prospect research as required.
  • Adhere to all CCNSW internal policies and external legislations i.e., Privacy Act, PCI Compliance, Charitable Fundraising Act requirements, financial controls etc.
  • Contribute to the documentation of internal policies and processes.

About you

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience managing high-value stakeholders including major donors and/or committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an extensive network of, and work with, high level business/corporate and high net worth individuals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of prospect research.
  • Superior project management skills and experience, with demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills on the phone and face to face with demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and build rapport to facilitate trusting and credible relationships.
  • Excellent donor engagement and stakeholder management skills. High level computer competency and proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM systems
  • Superb communication and stakeholder management skills, including a high level of competence in developing effective relationships with high-net-worth individuals, donors and internal stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as event management, business and/or marketing, or equivalent demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Team player and can-do attitude with the ability to remain calm and solution oriented in fast-moving situations.

Desirable:

  • Demonstrated event management experience, ideally within a fundraising context.
  • Demonstrated experience in high level fundraising.
  • Demonstrated experience of Giving Circles as a fundraising product.
