ABOUT CERES FINANCE

Come join us! We are on a journey to transform the finance function to best support CERES to achieve its inspiring purpose and vision of helping people to fall in love with the Earth again. CERES’ work spans environmental, social, economic, spiritual and cultural dimensions. We are an environmental education centre, a park, an urban farm and social enterprise hub spread across four inner North locations.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. Do you love numbers and desk work but at the same time love to roll your sleeves up and get outdoors, connecting face to face with colleagues and customers? Do you take your work seriously but always remember to pause and have fun along the way?

As part of the finance team, no two days will ever be the same. You will be the conduit through which all CERES financial activity flows. Together with the Finance Director, you will have visibility to all diverse, interesting, specialised functions and have a real opportunity to make an impact.

YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the CERES finance function – ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all finance-related transactions for all of CERES’ different areas.
  • Working closely with the Finance Director to provide stakeholders with clear financial information to assist in achieving the enterprise’s financial goals.

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?

  • You have strong financial management experience, including bookkeeping & payroll
  • You prioritise working collaboratively and building positive and productive working relationships with colleagues
  • You possess strong interpersonal communication skills and take a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • You are highly organised, meticulous by nature and treat matters confidentially when required
  • You can juggle a bunch of different priorities and tasks – keeping them all up in the air
  • You love collaborating with your director in the use of data to tell efficient stories about what is going on in the business
  • You might have (desirable) experience with Xero and Employment Hero payroll software
  • You might also have (desirable) experience working in a medium to large not-for-profit/charitable organisation and a broad understanding of social enterprise.

  • Low-cost access to all CERES workshops
  • Free staff car parking
  • Brand new purpose-built, fantastic office. We endorse sustainably sourced timber and high-quality fit outs built with love. (Not your typical office building).
