Our Business Operations Manager:

  • Is responsible for all aspects of organisational operation.
  • Will join our small Management team.

Reports to:

  • Chief Executive Officer.

Location:

  • Sydney (office in Brookvale / hybrid arrangement).

Status:

  • Part-time 0.6FTE (12 months fixed term contract with a view to permanent).

Role responsibilities

The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of operations to ensure a stable operational foundation for our work. This includes financial management, human resources, administration, operating systems and tools, legal and compliance, governance and policy, and impact and performance measurement.

Operating Efficiency:

  • Financial management including financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Manage business performance and impact measurement and reporting.
  • Provide administrative support to the team.

Human Resources:

  • Develop and implement performance management processes and frameworks.
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding as required and resourcing across the organisation.
  • Develop and implement practices to maintain the wellbeing of our team.
  • Manage HR systems, policies and objectives.

Strategy:

  • Develop and execute operational plan to meet strategic goals of the organisation.
  • Plan and manage operational growth.
  • Contribute to ongoing organisational strategy.

Infrastructure:

  • Manage and optimise operational infrastructure including IT, CRM and marketing systems and other existing and emerging technology solutions.
  • Manage office facilities.
  • Effective utilisation of all resources available including volunteers.

Stakeholder Relationships:

  • Manage key operational relationships including suppliers, professional services, volunteers and our own team members.

Governance:

  • Manage regulatory compliance including insurances, licences and policies.
  • Prepare Board papers and minute meetings as required.
  • Oversee risk management process for the organisation.

Selection Criteria - qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Experience and/or a strong interest in the not-for-profit sector.
  • 5+ years’ professional experience with a successful level of achievement.
  • Experience in financial management, including budget, forecasting and reporting.
  • Strong command of IT, well versed in working with technologies such as Google Suite, Salesforce, MS Office products, Mailchimp and a genuine interest in new apps and technology.
  • High outcome focus and attention to detail.
  • Exemplary communication and administrative skills.
  • Problem-solver who takes ownership and has the ability to think strategically.
  • Energy, creativity, drive and passion for our cause, our people and the role.
  • Strong credentials in HR, team building and people management.
  • Ability to self-manage and resolve key issues quickly and incisively.
  • The right to reside and work in Australia.
