ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People, Culture and Safety Manager to join the Central Support Service team at Circle Green.

This is a newly created role to provide leadership and management of the human resources team and functions across the organisation in all aspects of People and Culture which include recruitment, training, performance management, health, safety, wellbeing and employee engagement initiatives.

Working closely with the leadership and executive team, you will develop and implement effective people and culture frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure Circle Green can attract, retain, develop and manage an engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and execute a People and Culture strategy and strategic Workforce Plan
  • Oversee the development, review and maintenance of Human Resources policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislations.
  • Drive impactful initiatives to enhance employee experience and engagement
  • Implement health and safety wellbeing initiatives that aim to support, care for and protect staff, including psychosocial safety
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to the Human Resources Officer
  • Support, advice and coach the senior leadership team to respond to and manage staffing matters including performance management, behaviour, and grievances.
  • Be proactive and address emerging people and culture risks, challenges and opportunities

Circle Green provides state-wide specialist legal services in employment, workplace discrimination, residential tenancy law, family and domestic violence, and humanitarian services aimed at assisting people who are otherwise disadvantaged in their access to legal services.

Our Purpose is to create a system, place, and space to ensure a safety net of best practice legal advice, education, and advocacy in our specialist fields.

About You

Credentials and Experience

  • Tertiary degree in Human Resource Management/ Employee Relations/ Health and Safety or similar
  • Previous 3+ years experience in a similar roles, ideally in not-for-profit or community based organisations.
  • Experience in utilising and implementing a HRIS Systems (Employment Hero or similar)
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of social justice and human rights

Skills

  • You are a strong communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to influence, partner and coach senior leaders on People and Culture matters
  • You are able to manage and collaboratively drive change across an organisation
  • You have excellent organisational skills, with the capacity to plan a high and diverse workload, manage timelines and deliver high quality outcomes.
