Are you looking for a role that is as diverse as it is rewarding?

Carpentaria Land Council Aboriginal Corporation is the largest and most eminent corporate entity representing the rights and interests of Traditional Owners in the southern Gulf of Carpentaria. Our vision is to be the leader of sustainable, Indigenous community development in the lower Gulf Region where our people are strong and empowered to take control of country, culture and their economic future.

We have an opportunity for an HR professional to join our team as our People and Payroll Officer.

This is an extremely diverse role that encompasses both Human Resources administration and Finance. You will be responsible for the end to end fortnightly payroll function for the organisation which entails collating timesheets for data entry, managing employee salary sacrifice and deduction benefits, answering and solving staff enquiries and ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.

Human Resources tasks will include recruitment, induction and onboarding of new employees, contract preparation, employee records management and other duties supporting the HR, OHS and Training Officer. You will also contribute positively and proactively to the office culture. So if you are looking for a diverse role, this is it!

This role calls for an experienced payroll professional who is adept at manual payroll processes. Experience with MYOB is essential and it would be ideal if you have HR qualifications, but this isn't essential - work and life experience is just as valuable.

You are willing to turn your hand to whatever needs to be done and pride yourself on your patient, supportive communication skills. You are creative and innovative when solutions need to be found and problems solved, and you're resilient and able to adapt in a changing environment.

Willingness to travel to remote areas with a current C class driver's license is essential.

In exchange for your hard work, you'll be joining a passionate and engaged team, who'll support you every step of the way.
