  • Hours: 0.8 – Full Time FTE, negotiable (60 - 75hrs per fortnight).
  • Salary: Depending on skills and experience SACS Award Level 6 $97,278 -$101,321 pro rata ($49.07-$51.11 per hour)
  • Employment category: Fixed term to 31 December 2025.

CLWA is seeking a Workforce Project Lead committed to human rights and social justice, who is comfortable with a complex and rapidly changing environment and has a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, problems and solutions; to lead the delivery of CLWA’s Workforce Development Project.

Depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate the role will include a mix of:

  • Project delivery and management: working closely with the Sector Development Manager and the Project Reference Group to proactively establish, drive, deliver the CLWA Workforce Project ensuring project deliverables are met and the project is effectively monitored and evaluated.
  • Sector workforce development: working collaboratively with a small team to identify, develop and implement sector workforce development initiatives for example, identifying needs, sourcing and implementing training, professional learning and development, and other workforce and sector capability building initiatives.
  • Sector workforce attraction and retention initiatives: for example, examining role consistency within the legal assistance sector in relation to remuneration, employee benefits, and roles and responsibilities; developing proposals to address key person risks; exploring opportunities for sector shared back-end services including sector wide HR support; undertaking systemic advocacy for fair pay and conditions.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • A strong track record of successfully managing projects, inclusive of development, implementation, deadline management, evaluation, and reporting
  • Qualifications in a relevant area such as Human Resource Management, learning and development, project management, law, social work, community work or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in developing workforce capacity and capability projects with experience in two or more of the following:
    • Coaching / mentoring
    • Learning and development including leadership development
    • Design and development of learning materials
    • E-learning (Learning Management Systems)
    • Implementing Communities of Practice
    • Human Resource Policy and Procedure development
    • Employment Law
    • WHS and Wellbeing including identifying and managing Psychosocial risks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • High level skills in managing competing priorities and adapting quickly and effectively to changing goals and priorities

Desirable criteria:

  • Understanding of, or experience in working with, the community legal sector and ability to understand the operations of CLCs and the various contexts in which they operate
  • Legal background.
