  • Base Salary: $56,569 - $57,895 (p.a.)
  • Total Effective Package: $73,648 - $75,147 (p.a.)*
  • Full-Time, 3 Year Maximum Term Contract

About the role

The Student Midwifery Trainee (SMT) will work under the direct supervision of a Midwife within a defined scope of practice, to deliver midwifery care in acute or primary health care settings. The SMT will be supported to complete all essential training requirements, including attendance at face-to-face simulation blocks and clinical placements at Congress clinics and tertiary hospitals as specified by the university Batchelor of Midwifery program. The SMT will assist in the delivery of maternity care to Alukura Maternity Group Practice (AMGP) clients whilst gaining a broad understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a Midwife and provision of midwifery care within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service MGP setting.
