- Working Hours: Primarily Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Rotating on call roster, including weekdays, weekends, and after-hours.
CRCC is a non-government, not-for-profit feminist organisation dedicated to eliminating sexual violence in our community. We provide comprehensive crisis support and long term counselling to all victim survivors of sexual violence including women, children, and men (over the age of 16 years).
NB: This is a woman-only position under s 33B of the Discrimination Act (ACT) 1991 and is a genuine occupational qualification for the position.
About this role
The Program Coordinator- Counselling position:
- Makes decisions within the bounds of delegated authority relating to counselling and/or crisis service functions in consultation with the Service Director.
- Influences counselling and crisis services delivery using own knowledge, skills and capabilities
- Accountable to the Service Director for counselling and/or crisis team work outcomes, and Community Engagement activities
- Sets priorities and monitors workflow in the Team.
- Is responsible for their own workload management within the role and the broader context of the organisation.
- Reports all WHS risks, complex issues, including client complaints and Staff risks to the Service Director, immediately
- Ensures client records and Community Engagement activity requests are responded to in a timely manner, including scheduling trainers for the requests.
- Ensures counselling and crisis staff are kept informed of changes to work practices, information and service provision requirements
- Collect, maintain and evaluate relevant service provision data. Trends and issues identified from the counselling teamwork are shared regularly with the Services Director to support the organisations broader strategic direction.
- Waiting List is managed well and clients report positive service.
Highly desirable
- Experience in leading a team to successful work and client outcomes
- High level knowledge and understanding of the causes and consequences of sexual violence, within a feminist framework.
- Previous experience in providing counselling, information, referral, advocacy, group work and support services to people who have experienced interpersonal violence.
- Experience in presenting and delivering training to organisations and clients.
- Experience in forming relationships and partnerships with other organisations and in working with other organisations toward joint goals.
- Proven ability to work independently within a team environment, to identify priorities, meet deadlines and to manage workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to work positively in a team to promote and model collaborative and respectful staff and client relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy including use of Word, email and information databases.
Mandatory Requirement
- You must hold a current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (ACT)
- Current Drivers Licence.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology or counselling or relevant experience are required.
