  • Base salary: $130,000.00 per annum + 12% superannuation.
  • 6 weeks Annual Leave, 17.5% Annual Leave loading, 10 days Personal Leave.

Bawinanga is looking for a competent and experienced person to fill the role of Human Resources Manager based at Maningrida in West Arnhem Land. Bawinanga employs up to 160 indigenous and non-indigenous workers across a number of different services operating out of Maningrida.

Your focus will be ensuring best practice across all aspects of HR, including employee relations, company culture, recruitment/induction, termination, policies & procedures, reporting & analytics, WHS, training, risk management, workers compensation, performance management, reviews, remuneration & benefits, investigations, and HR compliance.     

We are seeking a strategic leader with a passion for excellence to inspire and guide a team in delivering top-tier employee relations services. This role will drive growth, retention, and engagement while supporting our continued commitment to providing exceptional, high-quality services with a proven record of operational efficiency.

As part of our organisation and senior leadership team, you will report directly to the CEO and be instrumental in leading HR initiatives across Bawinanga. You will develop a people strategy that aligns with business goals, offering innovative insights and solutions to address critical people-related challenges within our organisation.

Selection Criteria:

 Essential:

  • Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR Manager role, with a focus as a highly motivated leader and achiever 
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills and always leading by example.
  • Proficiency in HR software and systems, with strong analytic and reporting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law and regulations in Australia relevant to our industry
  • Experience in creating or redefining a HR framework, including policy and processes, educating and influencing management, and ensuring a collaborative culture across the business. 
  • Current drivers licence

Desirable:

  • Experience working within an Aboriginal organisation or similar is highly valued but not essential.
  • Previous experience managing staff within a HR team.
  • Previous experience using human resources management software.

  • NT Ochre Card
  • Satisfactory National Police Check clearance
