Annual Salary: $110,957 plus superannuation, $56.1525 per hour

Safe and Equal is the peak body for Victorian organisations that specialise in family and gender-based violence across the continuum, including primary prevention, early intervention, response and recovery. The Role

In line with the organisation’s purpose and strategic plan, Safe and Equal’s work in primary prevention is led by the Primary Prevention Unit (PPU). The PPU are focused on increasing the reach, impact and sustainability of a suite of primary prevention activities, and consolidating Safe and Equal’s leadership role in prevention workforce and sector development.

Here are some examples of what you will achieve in the next 12 months as Prevention Practice Development Advisor:

  • Strategically lead the planning, promotion, coordination and evaluation of at least 6 primary prevention Communities of Practice (CoP)
  • Lead and support facilitation of Communities of Practice alongside PPU staff and sessional facilitators
  • Develop and maintain resources in support of CoP delivery
  • Develop effective working relationships with a wide range of key partner organisations, prevention practitioners, Safe and Equal prevention members and Partners in Prevention (PiP) Network members
  • Support logistics and organisation of practice development and sector facing events and workshops

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 3 years relevant experience in a role/organisation engaged in primary prevention of family and gender-based violence or gender equality
  • Knowledge of the primary prevention sector and key primary prevention frameworks and practice standards
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation (workshops and/or Communities of Practice)
  • Strong experience in project and contract management processes and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to interact professionally and confidently with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • A strong understanding, and/or lived experience, of the ways that gender inequality intersects with other forms of inequality and oppression
  • Ability to manage time independently, prioritise and manage competing demands, with a high level of professionalism
