Safe and Equal is the peak body for Victorian organisations that specialise in family and gender-based violence across the continuum, including primary prevention, early intervention, response and recovery. Safe and Equal's office is located in Carlton, with flexible and remote options available. We encourage applications from candidates based in rural and regional Victoria. THE ROLE

Working in the Sector Development Unit, our staff support workforce, practice and industry development for the specialist family violence sector.

As a Casual/Sessional Trainer you are integral to the delivery of our training program and building family violence knowledge and skills for professionals and organisations.

Sound facilitation skills are critical to your success as a Trainer. They’ll underpin your ability to deliver our training and meet the needs of external stakeholders and their workforce. You apply adult learning methods and deliver training to assist professionals to build family violence capability.

Here are some examples of what you will achieve in the next 12 months as a Casual/Sessional Trainer:

  • Prepare & deliver high-quality engaging training sessions to a diverse group of participants from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations, both online and face-to-face
  • Participate in training review and evaluation processes as required
  • Provide feedback to learners and stakeholders on their progress and achievements
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful delivery of training programs that align with organisational values

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, community development, human services or welfare and/or vocational education and training (or equivalent experience)
  • Sound understanding of adult learning principles and demonstrated ability to effectively apply them
  • Experience in delivering virtual/online training by utilising digital material and associated platforms
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment [TAE 40116] (desirable)
