About the program

EACH is proud to be the Lead Agency of the Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, and Suicide Prevention (MHAODSP) program, a new initiative delivering comprehensive, integrated, and person-centred care across the CCQ region (Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast).

Collaborating with 9 partnering organisations the aim of this service is to address service gaps by enhancing accessibility and integrating primary mental health care, AOD, psychosocial support, and early intervention and prevention through a multidisciplinary, person centred model of care. About the role

As the Workforce Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating, sustaining, and enhancing the capability of our MHAODSP workforce. You will develop and implement comprehensive strategies to enhance workforce flexibility, cultural competency, and trauma-informed care across all roles. From coordinating cross-training initiatives to establishing micro-credentialing programs and career pathways, your leadership will be pivotal in building a resilient and culturally competent workforce that delivers high-quality, person-centred care.

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop and execute strategies to address workforce challenges specific to MHAODSP
  • Coordinate cross-training programs and on-the-job training initiatives to enhance workforce skills and flexibility
  • Implement initiatives to promote cultural competency and trauma-informed care among staff
  • Facilitate trainee programs and career pathways to attract and retain diverse talent, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and peer workers
  • Actively engage in co-design processes to foster collaboration and innovation, gathering stakeholder input to develop effective workforce solutions

About you

You’re an experienced leader with over 5 years of experience in workforce development, preferably within healthcare or community services.

You possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, healthcare administration, social sciences, or a related field
  • Proven success in managing workforce strategies, training programs, and career pathways
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to lead and motivate a diverse workforce
  • Exceptional project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health and alcohol and other drug services, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and peer workers (preferred)

With effective communication and interpersonal abilities enabling you to engage stakeholders at all levels, you bring a high level of cultural competency and dedication to trauma-informed care in workforce development.
