Position Objective/Overview

  • This role supports the Advocacy, Communications and Strategy team to develop and strengthen a trauma informed, strengths-based approach in our content, research and advocacy, ensuring EMH is a safe and trusted resource for our women so our ways of knowing and doing are recognised across the sector.
  • The role works collaboratively to shape and deliver the creative output for Elizabeth Morgan House (EMH) around the areas of education, cultural strengthen and impact. The role will grow our community of supporters, and engage them by writing and researching and continuously improving our education content.

Duties and Responsibilities

Content development

  • Develop and deliver effective campaigns and communications content in collaboration with the Advocacy team and subject matter experts.
  • Deliver on the EMH content strategy including developing print material, digital content including blogs, enews and internal content.
  • Update and consistently apply the EMH brand.
  • Deliver a weekly content piece on for social media.
  • Evaluate and review content for improvements.

EMH Team Participation

  • Participate in regular supervision, review, and individual planning, including the identification of training needs
  • Participate in and operate effectively within the EMH team environment, including attending and contributing to EMH internal meetings and events
  • Develop collaborative, supportive, and constructive relationships with EMH colleagues.
  • Represent EMH at external events as requested.

Administration

  • Complete, in an accurate and timely manner, all necessary administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Participate and contribute in OH&S activities to ensure a safe work environment
  • Perform other duties related to EMH daily operations as requested by EMH management

Key Selection Criteria

  • Research and project management experience
  • Experience in content development for various audiences
  • A great analytical thinker, and a leader who can connect the dots and build a strong evidence base for policy and advocacy
  • Interest in social change, resistance movements and understanding of issues impacted Aboriginal women and children.

Qualifications

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in similar roles
  • Skills in Canva and Wix preferred
