about the role

The Reception & Office Support role will act as the first point of contact for all incoming contact into EMHAWS, as well as providing reception, administrative, and office support for our Head Office in Fairfield.

The position will provide basic administrative and clerical support for general head office operations, from day-to-day tasks through to logistical support for staff events and supporting the outreach team with community events.

This position will provide clerical support for the general head office operations, and provide administrative support to the other EMH sites as necessary.

  • Knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history, and self-determination with the ability to apply this in a contemporary setting. 
  • Demonstrated experience of administrative tasks and procedures.
  • Professional reception skills and the ability to interact with clients in a sensitive and respectful manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction and work well within a team. • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills – able to work in a harmonious team structure that is supportive and efficient.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to gain respect and confidence of staff and other organisational contacts.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot a variety of problems including technical.
  • Sound time management skills.
  • Capacity to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative.
