Role Summary:
The Membership and Organising Coordinator is responsible for managing membership engagement, event coordination, and providing support for internal communications. The role ensures that members are engaged, events are well-organised, and communications align with the mission of EMILY's List. The position collaborates with Contracted Service Providers for strategic tasks, particularly in communications.
Key Responsibilities:
Membership Engagement
- Maintain and update the membership database in NationBuilder, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on members.
- Oversee membership renewals, communicate with lapsed members, and onboard new members.
- Coordinate and implement member engagement campaigns, including newsletters, email communications, and social media outreach.
Event Planning and Coordination
- Organise and coordinate online and in-person events, managing logistics and coordinating with state ELAG members.
- Ensure smooth event communication, including sending invitations, managing RSVPs, and following up post-event.
- Support event budgeting and financial tracking in collaboration with the Contracted Financial Service Provider.
Communications and Content Creation
- Draft and edit content for newsletters, event announcements, and social media posts, ensuring messaging aligns with the organisation’s goals.
- Collaborate with the Contracted Communications Service Provider to execute communications strategies, while handling internal execution and scheduling.
- Support the Admin and Accounts Officer in managing social media posting and email marketing campaigns.
Collaboration with Contracted Service Providers
- Partner with the Contracted Communications Service Provider to ensure high-level communications strategies are executed effectively.
- Work with the Contracted Financial Service Provider to support financial tracking for membership payments and event costs.

- Internal: CEO, Admin and Accounts Officer.
- External: Contracted Communications Service Provider, Contracted Financial Service Provider, ELAG members.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in membership management, event coordination, or communications.
- Proficiency with NationBuilder or similar CRM tools for managing memberships.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in event planning and membership management, with a strong ability to manage engagement campaigns.
- Copywriting experience for communications and social media.
- Skills:
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to collaborate with both internal teams and Contracted Service Providers to ensure smooth operations and communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- The role is part-time (3 days a week) with flexible working arrangements where possible.
- Occasional out-of-hours work may be required to manage events or urgent communication tasks.
SCHADS Award Level 3 - Summary of Entitlements:
- Pay Classification: Level 3 as per the SCHADS Award, with potential to grow towards Level 4 based on increased responsibilities.
- The role starts at Level 3, with scope for greater autonomy and strategic involvement, particularly in communications and event management, leading to potential movement to Level 4.
- Leave Entitlements: As per the National Employment Standards (NES) and SCHADS Award, including annual leave, personal leave, and other entitlements.
